Riyadh has a deep appreciation for shopping, and Via Riyadh has quickly become a go-to destination for luxury enthusiasts. This mall boasts a curated selection of high-end brands, both international and Saudi, making it a favorite among shoppers. However, there’s much more to discover at this upscale shopping center than just retail therapy
Anchored around an upcoming St. Regis hotel, Via Riyadh is poised to emerge as a prominent dining hub. With over 20 restaurants to choose from, including renowned names like London’s Michelin-starred Gymkhana, Parisian bistro Les Deux Magots, and Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, it’s a culinary haven for food aficionados. Additionally, the mall offers an ultra-luxury cinema experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Its seven themed screening rooms feature a range of seating options, from loungers and beds to hammocks and even a ball pool. Riyadh’s U-Walk becomes a bustling evening hotspot during the cooler months, attracting large crowds of friends and families looking to enjoy a variety of activities. With a mix of casual and upscale restaurants, shops, and a cinema, it offers something for everyone
For a delectable dining experience, try Onno, which serves Lebanese-Armenian cuisine in a beautifully decorated setting. Afterward, you can satisfy your sweet tooth and enjoy shisha at Huqqa. If you’re in the mood for a bit of nostalgia and entertainment, visit BOB’s Famous for bowling, burgers, and a lively 1990s music soundtrack. The unique touch here is the food delivery via a small robot on wheels, adding a fun twist to your evening. And for those interested in Saudi fashion, don’t miss the chance to explore uber-stylish clothing and accessories by local designers like Hayat Al Nasser at WE CRE8. U-Walk provides a diverse range of experiences, making it a popular destination for a memorable night out in Riyadh

Around Masmak Fort and Deera Square, there are numerous streets lined with local shops, making it a great area for a leisurely walk and some shopping. I would suggest visiting during the daytime, as I personally felt a bit uncomfortable in the area after sunset when it became dark, especially if you’re alone
Please note that the National Museum of Saudi Arabia and Masmak Fort are located in close proximity to each other. I recommend including both of these Riyadh attractions in your itinerary. You’ll need to take a taxi between them because it’s not possible to walk due to Riyadh not being a pedestrian-friendly city

Taking a day trip to the desert and exploring the mesmerizing red sand dunes just outside Riyadh is another great adventure. To do this, it’s recommended to join a tour, as it provides a convenient and enjoyable experience
For instance, I joined the Hike Mania Club. We assembled in South Riyadh, boarded buses, and ventured into the desert. During our excursion, we had the chance to spend around two hours before sunset, climbing up and down the dunes, enjoying the stunning scenery. Afterward, we returned to camp, where we indulged in a BBQ dinner, listened to music, and had the opportunity to socialize and connect with fellow travelers on the tour
This experience ranks high on my list of favorite things to do in Riyadh due to the sheer enjoyment and excitement it offers.
